How to get started

1. Go to www.mynursinglab.com, log on with the user name and password you chose. This will be the first screen you see:

2. Click on the name of your course and that will open up this screen:

3. Click on the date to see if your instructor has assigned material. If not, go to Course Content and click on View All Content.

4. The next screen will list all the book-level content: Book Resources, Student Study Plans, and Chapter Activities and Resources, Prentice Hall Real Nursing Skills, etc.

5. View the PRENTICE HALL REAL NURSING SKILLS (not in all courses): Each section contains skills videos, as well as coverage of Purpose, Equipment, Preparation, Post-Procedure, Expected Outcome, and Documentation.

6. Open the BOOK RESOURCES folder to find the following study aids:

a. Book Audio Glossary button on the screen above. Click on any word to hear to pronunciation.

b. Research Navigator to connect to on-line search engines. This tool can also be used to help you through the research process, contains coverage of the APA style under the End Notes tab, and can build your bibliography in APA style with the AutoCite feature.

c. Vango Notes links you to a site to purchase downloadable audio study files.

7. Open the CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AND RESOURCES. You will find study material here such as, Audio Glossary for the chapter, Highlights, Test Your Terminology, etc.

8. Open the STUDY PLAN folder, and then open any chapter. This is a completed study plan:

a. Take the Pre-Test to test your understanding of the chapter material. Once you have completed the test you can review it and get immediate feedback. Click the Return to Course Content to get to your customized study material, based upon the questions you missed on the Pre-Test.

b. Work through your Study Material to improve your understanding. Your Study Material my contain:

i. A number of resources may have VIDEOS and ANIMATIONS.

ii. Click on E-BOOK to view pages so you can read about this specific topic in your actual textbook.

iii. Complete the ACTIVITIES - mini quizzes with instant feedback

c. After you work through your study plan material, take the Post-Test to see how your understanding has improved. You can take the Post-Test repeatedly until you are comfortable with the chapter material
