About the Instructor
Dana Keithly, M.A., M.F.A.
I am a California community college graduate with an A.A. Degree in Anthropology from Chaffey College. I transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles and earned my B.A. in Anthropology. I went on to earn my M.A. in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton. I conducted my archaeological thesis work on San Nicholas Island, most famously known as the setting of the fictional children’s novel, "The Island of the Blue Dolphins". Since I am a glutton for punishment, I recently returned to UCLA to earn an M.F.A. in Film Producing. I have taught at the community college level since 2007, and I am known as "freeway flyer", teaching traditional on ground courses in Physical Anthropology, Archaeology, and Cultural Anthropology at several different college campuses.
