Welcome to BCCT50C -- Mr. Giordano -- sgiordano@bcconline.com -- Barstow Community College

Hello:

Let me be the first one to welcome you to Barstow College and congratulate you on your decision to challenge and expand your mind, life and educational goals. I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you and I am confidant that working together we will achieve a successful and enjoyable semester.

If I may take a few minutes of your time I would like to share a little about myself and my personal goals. First, I have been married to my wife and best friend Jennifer for three and half years and we have been blessed with our beautiful two year old daughter, Grace. I graduated from Apple Valley Senior High in 1990 and went on to Graduate with my Associates degree in Fire Science. I have live and worked in the high desert for the past twenty three years. During my time here I have worked in both building construction working with a general contractor and have also worked in the fire service as a firefighter, engineer and then captain. I have been continuing my education and will be completed with my Masters degree in the next year. I want to continue to develop my teaching skills and experiences by helping expand the number of available classes in the vocational program at Barstow College.

I will do all that I can to make sure that each student gets the time that he/she may need to be successful with their academic goals in their desired classes. I will work hard to give you the best, newest and most comprehensive information available on the subject/course you have chosen. I am here to help you learn and to gain knowledge and skills in your chosen field of study. In return I ask that the student give back in their effort 100% of their undivided attention during class, respect to all involved, to make all scheduled attendance/appointments on time, and to turn in all assignments/tests/reports on time as scheduled in your syllabus. If you’re not attending class as scheduled or dedicated to your required assignments and study time, you will have a hard time accomplishing your goal. If we work together we will all accomplish our goals and have a great semester.

Sincerely,

Scott Giordano
