About the Instructor: Ms. Harris

Welcome to CHLD 10.  My name is DeBorah Harris and I will be your instructor for this course.  I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I currently live in the small desert town of Victorville, California. I work as an Outreach Services Director for Army Child and Youth Services. Like many of you I have had many different life experiences. From 1975 to 1982 I served in the Army. After the Army I worked as a Children’s Librarian. I lived in Germany for over seven years and worked in several early childhood settings while I was there. I have been a Part-Day Preschool Teacher; Child Development Center Director; Training and Curriculum Specialist; Family Child Care Outreach Worker and Family Child Care Director.

On a personal note I am a wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout my personal and professional life I have learned the importance of being a lifetime learner. We are all constantly learning in and out of the classroom. Each of you will bring something different and valuable to this class.   As your instructor I will do everything I can to make the next nine weeks a stimulating learning experience. Since I see adult education as a partnership I look toward each of you to help add to this experience.
