I was born in Stuttgart Germany to an American father and a Welsh mother. I lived in Germany until I married a young soldier at the age of 18. I had the privilege of seeing Paris, London, New Key, Venice, Brussels, Vienna and many other European cities throughout my formative years. This gave me a broader view and understanding of the world than many young people get. I was an avid reader as a child, and carried that love into my education, but not without a few detours first.

I married an army career soldier, so I moved around a bit. We raised two boys together, and I am a grandparent of 5.

I was, in my youth quite athletic, playing softball, basketball, and tennis. I also swam, ice skated, bowled, and skied. As a civil servant, I was a sports specialist and organized and ran many tournaments.

My other interests are art (specifically oil painting) and music. I would like to write the "great American novel" someday.
